The First Balkan War is the war waged in 1912 against the Ottoman state by Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, and Montenegro, which formed the Balkan League.

The allied states aimed to seize the Ottomans' territories in Europe. The war proceeded with heavy defeats and great territorial losses for the Ottoman forces on various fronts. With the Treaty of London signed in 1913, the Ottomans lost an important part of their territories in the Balkans, and the empire's presence in Europe largely came to an end.
