370 CE · Avrasya · migration

In the second half of the 4th century, around the 370s, Hun communities of Central Asian origin advanced westward and reached the eastern parts of Europe.

The pressure of the Huns displaced various peoples, foremost among them the Goths, triggering major migratory movements toward the Roman frontiers. This process is regarded as one of the important factors of the period generally referred to as the Migration of Peoples and played a role in increasing the pressures faced by the Western Roman Empire.
