The Camp David Accords are the agreement reached in 1978 under the mediation of the United States between Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin.

The talks conducted at Camp David, hosted by US President Jimmy Carter, formed the framework of the peace process between the two countries. The accords prepared the basis for the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty signed in 1979. This process is considered a turning point in Middle East diplomacy as the first significant step in which an Arab country formally recognized Israel.
