The Bandung Conference was an international meeting held in April 1955 in the city of Bandung in Indonesia, attended by Asian and African countries.

States that had newly gained their independence or were in the process of freeing themselves from colonialism discussed solidarity against colonialism, economic and cultural cooperation, and the principles of peaceful coexistence. The conference is regarded as an important step that later laid the groundwork for the emergence of the Non-Aligned Movement.
