The Six-Day War took place between 5 and 10 June 1967 between Israel and Egypt, Syria, and Jordan.

In the short clashes, Israel achieved a decisive military superiority and captured the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. The war fundamentally altered the political and territorial balance of the Middle East. The captured territories became one of the central issues of the Arab-Israeli dispute in the following decades.
